Welcome to our April net worth update. We had yet another productive month. Is it me or does this year seem to be moving fast? When writing these recaps, I need to look back at my calendar for the month to remember all the things that went on. Maybe that just a sign of my short-term memory not being as sharp as it used to.
Well you can put the college decision in the books. We are officially set. My daughter will be attending a state school, part of New York’s SUNY system, roughly three and a half hours away. While my son will be living at home and commuting to a local private college. He nabbed over $20K in scholarships per year, so really helped in overall cost. Living at home too will be a money saver.
I’m sure there are naysayers that he won’t get the full college experience of living on his own, and that might be true, but he will have his sister and many friends in the Northeast that he can visit. We still have plenty to do until they head to their first college class in August, we are making sure we don’t wait to the last-minute to accomplish. Both my son and daughter continue to submit scholarship applications. We are hopeful that we will see some returns before the fall.
The Sunday Pancakes my daughter will miss out on while in college.
